Rituals in Wildness – Yoga and Somatic Movement
From April 21 to 26, 2025
Yoga integrating Applied Polyvagal Theory & Creative Somatic Explorations for deepening our connection to earth and body.
With a mindful somatic-based inquiry into our still and moving bodies this 5 night retreat provides a chance for us to deepen into the embodied presence & restoration we need and long for (as individual & collective bodies). Nestled in a tranquil setting where the jungle meets the ocean along the Pacific coast of Mexico, Xinalani is a beautiful eco-friendly resort that includes delicious vegetarian cuisine, a swimming pool, spa, beach and hammocks providing a comfortable but rustic oasis to be held by.
We will move, meditate, sweat, talk and play in motion and in stillness in a supportive, non-judgmental community retreat container. Bringing the outside in and the inside out, we explore with the various understandings of the present moment and embodied imagination. Our morning sessions will be rooted in yoga & attuning our nervous system, while our afternoon sessions will include somatic explorations and simple guided movement improvisations with ample time in-between for rest, play and personal reflection. This is intended to be a safe space for people of all backgrounds, bodies and gender expressions (& LGBTQIA inclusive), to explore and rest in a supportive community of humans moving together in a nourishing, connected and restorative time.
