From November to May, expect warm, sunny days, cooler evenings, and almost no rain. It’s also humpback whale season, with whale-watching trips and surfing nearby.
From June to October, the jungle turns lush and green, the ocean is warm for swimming, and sea turtles come ashore to nest. Tropical rain typically falls in the evenings or overnight.
There’s no single best time to come. Choose the season that feels right for you.

What types of rooms does Xinalani offer?
There are four room categories: Beach Casitas with a private plunge pool and A/C, Eco Chic Treehouses, Deluxe Rooms (both with open-air or A/C options), and shared Big & Small Palapa Dorms. Every room has ocean views.
Which rooms have air conditioning?
Beach Casitas have A/C, and Eco Chic Treehouses and Deluxe Rooms come in both open-air and A/C versions. Open-air rooms have a lockable door and three walls, with a terrace open to the jungle and curtains for privacy. The Palapa Dorms are open-air.
Which room is right for me?
Choose a Beach Casita for the most space and privacy steps from the sand, an Eco Chic Treehouse for the signature open-air jungle experience, a Deluxe Room for a cozy private stay, or a Palapa Dorm for the most accessible way to stay and meet other travelers. Where is Xinalani located in Mexico?
On the southern coast of Banderas Bay, in Quimixto, Jalisco, about 45 minutes by boat south of Puerto Vallarta. There are no roads to the property; it is reachable only by sea.
How do I get to Xinalani from Puerto Vallarta Airport?
Our VIP transfer is 90 USD per person round trip from Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR). Our taxi partner takes you to Puerto Mágico in Marina Vallarta (about 10 minutes), and from there you board the boat to Xinalani (about 45 minutes). Please book flights arriving before 4:00 pm and departing after 12:00 pm to avoid night-time boat travel.
Is there Wi-Fi in the rooms?
Yes. High-speed internet is available in all rooms, common areas, and yoga studios, although we invite you to use your stay to disconnect.
Is Xinalani accessible for guests with limited mobility?
Xinalani is built on a steep jungle hillside with 176 stairs from the beach to the highest point. Please take this into account if you have knee, hip, or ankle concerns, and write to us so we can suggest the best room for you.
What should I pack for my stay?
Pack light: swimsuit, yoga clothes, a sweater for cool evenings, flip-flops and sneakers, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and a flashlight, since the property is kept dark at night.
When is the best time to visit Xinalani?
November to May brings warm, sunny days, almost no rain, and humpback whale season. June to October brings a lush green jungle, warm ocean water, and sea turtle nesting season.
