Join Beryl and a bright and supportive community of friends, for a week of mindful yoga and meditation, as we melt into Xinalani’s glorious and private mountainside setting on Mexico’s magnificent Pacific Coast. Mornings begin with Beryl’s gentle and masterful guidance in the ancient Buddhist practice of vipassana meditation – a practice that awakens us to the joy of mindfulness.

The opportunity to practice training our mind in attention in this peaceful retreat setting, with minimal distraction and turbulence, helps us to establish mindfulness in every moment of our lives – no matter where we are and what is going on. As we sit easily with the sangha and then share the energy of our yoga classes, we are supported in our collective effort to be present and awake. Because we are all working to be mindful, it is easier to carry that awareness out into our day, bringing mindfulness to our conversations, explorations, and adventures.

The day continues with wonderful plant based meals, walks on the beach, world class spa services, foundation training, swimming in the magnificent Pacific, reading by the pool or soaking in the hot tubs. Options abound from whale watching and hanging with wild dolphins, to exploring the pristine sierra around Xinalani. And, of course, we need to include a day to trapise up to the beautiful West Coast city of Puerto Vallarta.

About The Teacher

Beryl Bender

Classical (astanga) Yoga & Buddhist Studies

Beryl Bender, an environmental and animal activist since the early 70’s, is the best-selling author of four books on yoga, including Power Yoga and Beyond Power Yoga. A former biofeedback researcher with a degree in English and philosophy from Syracuse University, Beryl has been an avid student of classical yoga, meditation, and Buddhism since l971 and traveled to India in l974 with her teacher, Jain monk Munishree Chitrabhanu, to further her studies. She has been training yoga students and teachers through her school, The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute, for 50 years and leads yoga and meditation retreats all over the world.
