While flowing in an Alignment-based Vinyasa, the teachings of the Yamas and Niyamas will be woven through the practice, reflected on and journaled about. The Yamas and Niyamas are the foundational teachings of yoga and are my students’ favorites to work with, as they strengthen our emotional integrity and increase confidence!

Maggie Heinzel-Neel

Yoga and Chinese Medicine

Maggie is known for her alignment-based vinyasa that flows with a long slow breath. She weaves the teachings of Yoga and Chinese Medicine, combining Yoga, Qigong and the 5 Elements of Chinese Medicine. Through the Meridian Flow, the energy pathways of the organs are stimulated through an acupressure affect within the yoga postures and Qigong sets. Maggie's classes are rich in energy flow, deep breathing, and a strong alignment-base.

Maggie combines a wide range of experiences: a dynamic physical workout with precise alignment instructions, focus on breath within the poses and in pranayama, spiritual reflection, and a mindfulness observation that leads to a meditative experience. Maggie is now a trained Medical Chi Gong instructor, using the 5 elemental theory to guide the practices according to the seasons in the Meridian Flow Yoga+Qigong. This is the ultimate combination of a strong physical practice combined with a deep inner focus. It’s a unique combination that is deeply healing.
