Map and Points of Interest

Quimixto

The little town nearby is called Quimixto, it’s located across the river a ten minutes walk south of Xinalani. Xinalani is a socially responsible project that aims at supporting this community. Most of our staff is from Quimixto and walk to work every day. Some employees commute daily by boat from Puerto Vallarta. In Quimixto there is a rural elementary school. Some of our guests offer the kids yoga classes, some make donations to provide the school with supplies or to improve infrastructure. For more information, please enquire with Berenice at the front desk.

Waterfall

• There is a waterfall in Quimixto. It’s a 30 minutes fairly easy trail. At the waterfall, there’s a little restaurant.
• This waterfall is not to be confused with our guided hike called “Into the Wild” that will take you further into the jungle to other secret waterfalls.

Boat

• Xinalani is only accessible by boat. There is absolutely no road access. The closest road is at Boca de Tomatlán, a 15 minutes boat ride north. That means everything you see, touch, or eat at our retreat was brought in by that same little fiberglass craft that brought you in and that locals colloquially call panga.
• Sometimes the ocean is too rough to load and unload the boat on the beach, so we need to use the pier at Quimixto.
• There are frequent water taxis that can bring you to Puerto Vallarta, or you can charter the Xinalani panga to take you to town and pick you up when you’re done shopping and sight-seeing. Inquire at the front desk for costs and schedule.

Las Animas

Above the Temazcal, there is a little coastal trail that takes you north to the beach called Las Animas. It’s a 30 min. scenic walk to a wide swimming beach with restaurants and tourist activities.

YOGA

• There are 5 yoga spaces: the Jungle Studio, the Greenhouse, the Meditation Cabin, the Hot Yoga room and the Aerial Yoga Studio. It takes a few minutes hike to get to all of them.
• Occasionally practice may take place down at the beach terrace. To avoid any inconvenience, make sure you double check your yoga schedule.
• You may use blocks, belts, and blankets at your convenience. Please replace them in the closets after class. Place used towels in the towel baskets outside the yoga area.
• Please clean your yoga mat after practice and leave it extended on the floor, our housekeeping staff will roll it up when it’s dry.
