Whitney is a former professional dancer, personal fitness trainer, dance teacher, and choreographer. She enjoys finding new ways to merge her passions and offer unique sequences in her yoga classes. She cultivates flows that feel like dancing while challenging the body to find stability and strength. She also places heavy emphasis on connecting breath to movement and working intelligently within each person’s own functional range of motion. Her classes are designed to ignite body + mind + spirit.
Kat is ERYT-200 HR certified by Anton Brandt of the Sacred Fig, and recently became certified in Katonah® Yoga. Prior to settling down in Alabama, she spent nearly a decade traveling, learning, and teaching around the world. She got her 30 HR Yin certification through Power Living in Australia, studied Thai Massage at the Sunshine Massage School in Thailand, and has completed Vipassana Meditation courses in India, Thailand, and USA. Drawing from a wide background of travel, movement, breathwork, and meditation, Kat aims to help people explore, connect to, and embrace every unique part of themselves.
Kat loves to dabble in different styles but is most influenced by vinyasa, yin, Katonah yoga®, and kundalini. Kat believes that the breath is one of the most important tools we can use to master our lives. Through a potent blend of movement, kriya, and breath, her classes are designed to ignite mindfulness, self-awareness, and self-enquiry. While movement is her bread-and-butter, she fully embraces the stillness practices, recognizing that we have to balance the yang with the yin. You can often find threads of Vipassana Meditation and Five Element Theory infused into her offerings.
